Evaluate and analyse

We encourages all teachers to solicit and respond to student feedback in order to become a more mindful teacher.

The course evaluation is the overall analysis of a course, i.e. the developmental action proposals that the course team develops based on learning analysis, examination results and student course evaluations. Here you will find support to help you develop the course development process.

Although we often think of student feedback in terms of the more formal course evaluations we do at the end of a course, there are many other ways to collect and analyse your students' learning throughout the course. Students are in an excellent position to comment on how they are experiencing the organization of the course, how they experience the course organisation in terms of teaching effectiveness, relevance, volume of reading and assignments, reflections on their own learning and their own efforts in the course (workload and effort).

Manage and counteract unpleasant comments in your course evaluations

The question of how to deal with unpleasant and destructive comments is one of the most common problems that is raised when it comes to teachers' experiences of course evaluations.

Klara Bolander Laksov, professor of higher education, gives her view on course evaluations and discusses different ways to handle and counteract unpleasant and destructive comments in course evaluations.
