About the centre
Centre for the Studies of Children's Culture offers a unique education in the subject of child culture, but also works to promote and strengthen the development of knowledge in the field of child culture in other ways. The center arranges open lectures, brings together researchers in interdisciplinary networks, and participates in a number of collaborative projects.

The center's purpose is to promote knowledge development in the field of children's culture. The center conducts training, symposia, conferences and is involved in various collaborative projects.
The center was founded in 1980 and has been part of the Department of Child and Youth Studies since 2008.

Education in children's culture

The Centre for the Studies of Children's Culture offers an unique education in Children's culture as a main field of study.
Within the interdisciplinary subject of Children's Culture you will study aesthetic expressions such as literature, music, dance, theater, film and TV for children. Various kinds of digital media, consumption, cultural policy, children’s play and peer culture are also important areas of study as are the rights of the child.
Upon completion, the courses in Children’s Culture will have helped you develop theoretical and methodical tools for a qualified study of aesthetic and cultural practices within the field. As a subject, Children’s Culture is closely connected with child cultural practices and research in a broad sense.
Research
