After a long period of intense Baltic-wide collaborations, there is a need for a synthesis phase to sum up the knowledge gained. Welcome to Baltic Sea Science Congress 2019!

Sessions and Abstracts

Baltic Sea Science Congress 2019 focuses on the five topics: Change and Impacts of External Forcing, Coastal Seascapes and Dynamics, Causes and Consequences of Baltic Sea Ecosystem Dynamics, Monitoring, Observations and Assessment systems and Policy and Management/Assessment Strategies.

Exiting side events

Four special side events gives the Congress the little extra. A mock press conference kickstarts the congress. "Thinking Story Like a Journalist" – Panel and Pitch Pit during the first Poster session. The Congress dinner takes place in the Nobel banquet venue. And a unique workshop for young scientists is held on Monday evening.

Scientific Steering Committee 2019

The Scientific Steering Committee consists of researchers with broad and cross-disciplinary experiences of Baltic Sea research. The members represent a mix of the Baltic Sea countries as well as mix of experiences from previous Baltic Sea Science Congresses.

Local Organisational Group

The Local Organisational Group at Stockholm University handles all the practical details concerning the congress BSSC19. This group consists of members with a mixed background in research, communication and the policy-science field from Stockholm University Baltic Sea Centre. The scientific content of the congress is administered by the Scientific Steering Committee
