All students and staff at Stockholm University are advised to follow the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ (UD) recommendation to refrain from travels to Iran and the parts of China affected by the new coronavirus. The University also encourages students and staff to be cautious about travel abroad in general. Stockholm University is monitoring the situation and follows the information and recommendations of the Swedish Public Health Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding this matter.

Based on the recommendations of the Swedish Public Health Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Stockholm University has the following positions:
- Students and staff in Sweden are encouraged to keep up to date via the responsible authorities' websites. Stockholm University are following these authorities recommendations. If the university decides on local regulations, these will be published on this website.
- Until further notice, the University advises staff and students not to travel to Iran and China. Business trips to Iran and China (not including Hong Kong and Macao) are not granted under present circumstances.
- All scheduled visits from partners/guests from Iran and China (not including Hong Kong and Macao) are cancelled until further notice.
- Staff and students who have recently visited affected areas have, in consultation with relevant head/course coordinator, the opportunity to work/study from home for a two-week period after arriving in Sweden.

Employees who plan to travel abroad or who await visits from other countries are encouraged to follow recommendations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Public Health Authority, the universities where visits are planned, and the airlines' information. Is the visit necessary or is it possible to find alternative forms of meeting? Also be sure to book your trip through the university's procured travel agency Egencia.
People who have been in the areas below should, according to the Public Health Authority, pay attention to respiratory symptoms such as coughing, breathing difficulties or fever and call the health care guide 1177 for assessment.
- Hubei province, or other provinces on Chinese mainland where the spreading of infection is ongoing
- The Italian regions: Lombardy, Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto
- Iran
- South Korea
