Congratulations to Helen Coxall
We congratulate Helen Coxall to her promotion to Professor of Marine Micropaleontology!
Helen is an internationally widely recognized scientist within the field of paleoceanography and paleoclimatology. Her key work tools rely on expertise in the evolution of a major ocean plankton group (foraminifers) that produce tiny shells made of calcium carbonate and, by their astronomical numbers, generate calcareous seafloor sediments. Her expertise also include extraction of chemical information from these shells, especially isotopes of oxygen (provides information on ocean temperature and global ice volume) and carbon (provides information on oceanic primary production conditions).
