2024 | PALAEOARC

Processes and Palaeo–Environmental Changes in the Arctic: From Past to Present is an international network research programme. The scientific goal of this six-year programme is to understand and explain the climatically-induced environmental changes in the Arctic that have taken place throughout the Quaternary and continue in the present-day.

The 5th International PalaeoArc Conference was organized at Stockholm University (IGV reseachers), The Swedish Museum of Natural History and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences over 3 days (Monday May 27–Wednesday May 29).

Arctic ocean

The Arctic Workshop is an annual meeting dedicated to all aspects of high-latitude Earth science and environmental research. Running since 1970, the workshop is an informal meeting space for scientists at all career stages working in fields encompassing high- latitude climate, hydrology, glaciology, oceanography, ecology, archaeology, solid Earth processes and hazards in past, present and future environments. Sarah Greenwood, researcher at IGV was the organiser for this workshop 2019.

The International Conference on Arctic Margins (ICAM) is a forum for earth scientists who study the Arctic. It was founded to help understand Arctic geology and to foster cooperation and collaboration among Arctic researchers. There have been 7 meetings since its inception in 1991 and the 8th was hold in the Geoscience building in Stockholm University, June 2018. The meeting was organized by Victoria Pease, Department of geological sciences, Stockholm University.

Unravelling the Past and Future of Lakes

On behalf of the International Paleolimnology Association (IPA) and the Internation-al Association of Limnogeology (IAL), the organizing committee, led by Malin Kylander (Department of geological sciences), Richard Bindler (Department of Ecology and Environmental Science, Umeå University), and Dan Hammarlund (Department of Geology, Lund University), for the first combined meeting of IPA and IAL for the 14th International Pale-olimnology Symposium and the 7th ILIC Congress (ILIC7)!
