Research subjects

Research at the Department of Organic Chemistry addresses important challenges in the environment and health. We work for a better world where new organic compounds are created for use in society.

We focus on developing new production methods for organic compounds, using green synthesis and sustainable process paths. Important parts of the research include catalytic organic chemistry, theoretical chemistry, organic synthesis, and characterization of biostructures. Many of the organic compounds produced are of interest to the pharmaceutical industry.
