Kasturie Dileep Jatkar's thesis in Chemical Physics

Fysikum congratulates our PhD student Kasturie Dileep Jatkar, who successfully defended her thesis: ‘Phase-corrected time-domain terahertz spectroscopy in reflection geometry’ on 15 April 2025.

The supervisor was Stefano Bonetti (Fysikum) and the co-supervisor was Ronny Knut (Uppsala University).
The faculty opponent was Eugenio Cinquanta (CNR-IFN).
The examining committee consisted of Elizabeth Blackburn (Lund University), Supriya Krishnamurthy (Fysikum), with Markus Kowaleski (Fysikum) as chair, and Melanie Müller (Fritz Haber Institute) who participated digitally.

An often forgotten energy consumer is the internet. Data centres, where information is stored in the form of magnetic bits, waste most of their energy as heat. Improve the control over magnetic information is crucial for our society is to prosper.
