Our student ambassador Jeehong is working on her master project
Fysikum has three student ambassadors Bee Crinnion, Oruba Abu-Hammam and Jeehong Lee. The first two are bachelor students and Jeehong is in her last semester of the Medical Physics program. She is working on her master's project and tells us more about her studies, her ambassadorship and when she was Lucia 2024 at AlbaNova.

What are you studying now and how are your studies going?
"Right now I'm in the last semester of the Medical Radiation Physics program, when you start working with your master's project. My project is about glioma, i.e. malignant brain tumor. At the moment, I'm focusing on literature review and a detailed planning for the project. Of course, it feels great to be able to do research myself, but it also feels a little strange that there are no regular lectures left in the entire program. So it feels like there are still many things I need to immerse myself in as a student."
What plans do you have after your studies?
"I would like to do a PhD in Medical Radiation Physics! By continuing my studies as a PhD student, I hope to deepen my insights and thereby develop my own unique research interest! This way, I can possibly continue as a student ambassador during my PhD and share my experiences as a PhD student!"

What do you do as a student ambassador for Fysikum?
"As a student ambassador, I mainly work to inspire students to study physics through various missions. For example, I participate in several events to tell about the physics programs you can study at Fysikum and recruit new students. Of course, I also write posts on social media! When I heard that the number of first-choice applicants to the Medical Radiation Physics program for Fall semester of '24 has almost doubled, I was super happy and grateful that so many have become interested in studying with us!"

You were chosen to be Lucia during the 2024 celebrations at AlbaNova - how was it?
"I was very grateful to have the honor of participating in the Lucia celebrations as Lucia 2024! As it was my first experience of Lucia celebrations in general, I was even more happy and excited. Thank you so much for the chance, it was a very cozy evening!"
