Research subjects

At the Department of Slavic and Baltic Studies, Finnish, Dutch and German, research is conducted in a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment in a variety of languages: Russian, Ukrainian, Czech, Polish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Finnish, Dutch and German. Among the research subjects covered are Linguistics, Literature, Sociolinguistics, Language History, Minority Language Research, Cultural Heritage Studies, Multilingualism, Languages Education, Second and Third Language Acquisition.

Baltic Languages

The research at Stockholm University covers the languages, literatures, and cultures of Latvia and Lithuania.

Dutch

Research in Dutch takes place primarily in the areas of language, literature and translation.

Finnish

Research in Finnish takes place mainly in the areas of language, literature and culture.

German

Linguistic, literary and didactic studies are conducted at the Department of German.
