Defence of doctoral thesis: Comparing theories of pre-linguistic normalization for vowel perception

On the 29 of November 2024, Anna Persson will defend her doctoral thesis in Scandinavian Languages: Comparing theories of pre-linguistic normalization for vowel perception. The defence is public and free of charge and will be held in English. Department of Swedish Language and Multilingualism at Stockholm University.

New Master's Programme in Multilingualism and Second Language Acquisition. Apply by 15 January

The Master’s programme aims at providing students with transdisciplinary, in-depth knowledge and skills in the fields of Multilingualism and Second Language Acquisition with focus on both the individual and society. Students acquire competences in demand in high-quality linguistic research as well as different professional areas of the multilingual society.

Introduction Day for Master Students at the Faculty of Humanities

The Introduction Day is an informative session designed for students about to embark on their master's studies at the Faculty of Humanities. This day aims to cover everything you need to know as a new student, providing an introduction to the wide range of opportunities available at the Faculty. Our student counsellors will inform you about the support they offer, and our student panel is prepared to answer any questions you may have about life as a master's student.

Natalia Volvach receives a scholarship for the project Ukrainian Voices in Sweden (2024–2025)

The Anna Ahlström and Ellen Terserus Foundation for PhD's has decided to award Natalia Volvach at Stockholm University a two-year research scholarship for Doctor of Philosophy 2024–2025: Ukrainian Voices in Sweden. "Countering Voicelessness: Lived experiences of language among war refugees from Ukraine in Sweden".
