HumInfra Conference 2025 (HiC 2025)

Conference

Start date: Wednesday 12 November 2025

Time: 09.00

End date: Thursday 13 November 2025

Time: 17.00

Location: Stockholm University

Stockholm University is hosting this year's second HumInfra Conference 2025 (HiC 2025).

HumInfra is a Swedish national infrastructure supporting digital and experimental research in the Humanities by providing users with a single entry point for finding existing Swedish materials and research tools, as well as developing national method courses. On November, 12-13, 2025, Huminfra is organizing its second conference with the aim to showcase the variety of infrastructural tools, resources and initiatives aimed at supporting digital and experimental research in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Law as well as offer opportunities to greet old friends and research pals and find new ones.

Please observe that the schedule for the conference is preliminary and will be subject of change.

Call for submissions

We invite submissions that cover any aspect of research infrastructure components for digital or experimental human science such as digital humanities, experimental humanities; computational social sciences or legal research, etc., focusing primarily, but not exclusively, on:

Digital or experimental resources and tools for research, including collaborative tools and platforms

  • Digital infrastructures (e.g., digital archives & repositories; experimental tasks)
  • Description of digital human science centers, networks, and related projects
  • Digital human science expertise and expertise in experimental human science
  • Practical aspects of how tools/services/resources have been and can be used
  • User training and education (e.g., "how-to" tutorials)
  • Availability of tools/services/resources, and associated ethical, privacy or legal constraints
  • Funding opportunities and strategies for building and sustaining digital human science infrastructure
  • User involvement and/or case studies where research infrastructure components have been used
  • Emerging trends and future directions in digital human science infrastructure development (e.g., AI)
  • Dissemination of digital and experimental infrastructures, data, software, and/or research output in and beyond knowledge institutions
  • Demos of any of the above
  • Other, related to infrastructure, issues and challenges such as digital human science at the intersection of disciplines within and beyond the arts and human science.

We invite three types of contributions, i.e. Blue sky ideas, work-in-progress, or finished digital tools, datasets, and so forth in either of these 2 shapes:

  • short papers of approximately 3–6 pages (excluding references) or
  • short abstracts of approximately 300 words.
  • During the conference, accepted submissions will be part of a poster session, demo session, or regular presentation, to be decided during the review process.

We aim for publication of the short papers via a Swedish electronic publication platform or via the CeUR.ws platform. Future inclusion in the Huminfra Handbook is under discussion as well.
