On March 17, Barbara Tobolowsky, Associate Professor of Education, brought a delegation of her doctoral students from the University of Texas Arlington to visit the Department of Education.

They met with Associate Professor Ulf Fredriksson, Associate Professor Meeri Hellsten, and Reed T. Curtis, doctoral student, to learn about our research, the Swedish education system, and international comparisons.

Barbara Tobolowsky, Associate Professor of Education at the University of Texas Arlington and her doctoral students took part in an international and comparative education class that included visits to Finland and Sweden.

The doctoral students are within a kindergarten through higher education research program and also work as educators in Texas.

Reed T. Curtis: Can you tell us about the visit?

- The experience was rewarding for me because it allowed me to visit with one of my most influential professors from the United States within my new educational context in Sweden, says Reed T. Curtis, doctoral student at the Department of Education, and former university student at the University of South Carolina where Dr. Tobolowsky was a faculty member before moving to the University of Texas Arlington.
