How to apply for a position
In order to apply for a position at Stockholm University, you have to register an account in our recruitment system. All University recruitments are to be done within the framework of the system.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the application is complete in accordance with the instructions in the job advertisement/application form, and that it is submitted before the deadline (at 23:59 Swedish time). The selection of candidates is made on the basis of the qualifications registered in the application.
Below you can see all the steps of the application process.
Register an account
Click on the button Log in and apply in the job advertisement.
In order to start writing your application, you need to create an account in the recruitment system. Click on First visit? Create new account and follow the instructions. With an account, you will have an overview of your applications and can reuse previously registered information.
Please note that once the recruitment process is completed, you are responsible for closing the account in Varbi yourself.
Sign in
Log in with your e-mail address and password. In case you have forgotten your password, click on Forgotten your password? in the login page and a new password will be sent to your e-mail address.
If you have already submitted your application, you can view it via the page Available jobs at Stockholm University. Login at the top left.
Answer questions and attach documents
Signing in will take you to the application form for the position you are applying for.
Each question and request for a document (pdf rekommended, max 40 MB/document) will contain instructions regarding what should be included in the application.
Please, don't upload documents from the web or from cloud services – make sure the documents are stored locally before uploading. You must have a stable internet connection and no ad-blocker on.
Make sure to answer the obligatory questions and attach the obligatory documents, all of which are marked with an asterisk (*).
Work on your application in stages
At any time during the application period, you can save your application and continue later by clicking on Pause your application and later on Finalize application.
Register and submit your application
Before you can submit your application you have to accept that Stockholm University will be recorded and processed your personal data for recruitment.
When you are ready to apply, click on the button Submit application. If you forgot to fill in a required field, it will be marked with the text “Obligatory information”. Fill in the missing information and click on Submit application.
Submitted application and confirmation
When your application has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation notice at the top of the page: “Thank you for your application”, as well as a confirmation to your e-mail address.
Log out
Once you have submitted your application, you will be taken to the list of all your applications. At the top, under the cogwheel, you will find Log out.
Close the account
After the recruitment process is completed, you are responsible for closing the account in Varbi yourself.

Technical support
Stockholm University has technical support at the supplier. You will find it when you have logged in to your account in Varbi. Technical support is provided during office hours.
