Academic Integrity and Artificial Intelligence-
Are you concerned about how artificial intelligence is reshaping student learning—and challenging traditional approaches to plagiarism and assessment? How can we ensure that students still develop critical thinking, academic writing, and proper citation practices in an AI-driven world?
This interactive workshop invites teachers, course directors, and staff at Stockholm University to explore practical strategies for maintaining academic integrity while constructively integrating AI into higher education.
Rethinking teaching and assessment in the age of AI
Drawing on recent research and a dedicated handbook on plagiarism prevention, this workshop combines theory with hands-on application.
Together, we will:
- explore best practices for preventing plagiarism in the context of AI
- discuss how AI tools can support student learning rather than undermine it
- examine how teaching and assessment need to evolve
A central part of the workshop is collaborative work. Participants are encouraged to bring a course syllabus and, in small groups, reflect on questions such as:
- How can AI be meaningfully integrated into course design?
- How should learning outcomes be reformulated?
- What types of assessment and grading criteria are robust in an AI-rich environment?
By the end of the workshop, you will have drafted concrete ideas or revisions for your own course, including AI-aware assessment strategies and approaches to strengthen academic integrity.

The workshop is aimed at all teaching staff and educational managers, regardless of subject affiliation, at Stockholm University. Participation is free of charge. Book your place in good time, as places are limited. First come, first served is applied.
