The Human Right to Science

We are delighted to invite you to a discussion with Professor Andrea Boggio, the Fulbright-Lund Distinguished Chair in Public International Law during the 2025-2026 academic year. A professor of Politics, Law and Society at Bryant University and a practicing attorney at the New York Bar, Professor Boggio's research focuses on science, technology and innovation policy, with a particular
emphasis on the legal and ethical aspects of biosciences. Professor Boggio has advised various UN bodies, including the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the World Health Organization. His latest book is The Human Right to Science: History, Development, and Normative Content, co-written with Cesare P.R. Romano and published by Oxford University Press in 2024.

Professor Boggio's presentation will be followed by Q&A, which will be moderated by Mr. David Silverlid. Mr. Silverlid is the Membership Secretary of the Swedish Branch of the International Law Association, a Visiting Fellow at the Swedish Defence University, a Doctoral Candidate in International Law at Örebro University, and a member of the ILA Committee on AI & Technology Law. He earned his LL.M. Degree as a Fulbright Scholar at UCLA School of Law.
