About me

I focus on the interaction between organic matter and microorganisms. My research focused on the seasonal dynamics in Fram Strait and Kara Sea during my PhD at GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel (Germany) and then seasonal dynamics in the Mediterranean Sea at the Laboratoire d'Océanographie Microbienne (LOMIC, France) during my first post-doc phase. Currently, I am studying the effects of acidification on benthic microbial communities across the Arctic shelves in Dr. Birgit Wilds group within the
Department of Environmental Science and Analytical Chemistry Biogeochemistry (ACESb).
Additionally, I co-coordinate the ECOP-Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH) national node, co-organize the ECOP BlueCaD Project, and co-organize the Gordon Research Seminar Marine Microbes 2026. As of recently, I am also a BioGeoScapes Fellow.
