About me

Associate professor/Docent in economic history.

Global economic history is my main interest. My research focuses on environmental history, trade, colonialism, economic inequality and slavery.

I am currently leading a large collaborative research project which examines living standards in colonial slave-based societies in the Caribbean. I am also working on smaller individual projects on labor regimes in India and the US in a comparative perspective throughout the nineteenth century and on the Baltic trade.
