About me

I am particularly interested in legal contradictions that arise at the intersection of collective and individual interests in areas not classified as crimes and punishment in the legal sense, but fall under the designation of administrative control and administrative deprivation of liberty.

In my dissertation, I examined the translation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in the locked coercive care of children as a way to address the issues of violence, abuse, and neglect in this form of treatment. More specifically, I explored how the tension between coercion and children as rights-holders is articulated and negotiated in the regulation of these facilities.
