Laura Turner

I am a terrestrial ecologist, focussed on plant-soil interactions in Arctic and similar environments. I am a researcher with Birgit Wild's group, on the PRIMETIME project.

I am interested in understanding how tundra plants and fungi contribute to carbon and nutrient cycling in permafrost environments. By understanding the mechanisms and quantifying the influence of vegetation on soil processes, including rhizosphere priming, we can begin to understand how changes to vegetation and climate may alter the carbon balance of tundra soils and permafrost.
