I use a feminist approach to material culture studies and close reading of ego documents to study European elite culture and the Swedish monarchy from the 18th to the 21st century, in order to claim the lasting impact of aristocratic social practices, values and aesthetics in modern society. By elite culture I include aspects such as spending, family dynamics, politics, sociability and the relationship between them, most often in the urban landscape.
