About me
I’m a researcher of early modern history interested in the themes of forced migration, state formation and national identity.
I received my Ph.D. at Stockholm University, in 2023. In my dissertation, I studied war captivity during the great northern war and how local communities in Sweden. Denmark and the electorate of Saxony negotiated their boundaries towards the outside world in their interaction with prisoners of war.
Between 2023 and 2025 I’ve been employed as a postdoctoral researcher at Gothenburg University, where I’ve investigated the reception of internal refugees in the Swedish empire during the great northern war.
In July 2025 I began a new research project here at the department of history, investigating church fundraising, humanitarian responsibility and community formation in the Swedish realm, ca. 1650–1860.
Aside from my research I’m a board game designer and actively explores the opportunities and limits of using the game medium to communicate historical knowledge. As a first step, I’ve constructed the game I want to stay, in an attempt to communicate the key results of my dissertation to a none-academic audience.
