The TRISS research group investigates translation as a fundamental social relation in our globalized and interconnected world. Our research is both theoretical and empirical and explores the multifaceted role of translation in society by drawing on theories and methods broadly associated with translation sociology, translation history, world literature studies, and network theory. The work of the members encompasses critical studies of religious texts, children’s literature, translation bibliomigrancy, the consecration of literary translation cultures and agents. It is our firm belief that translation is an essential transformative force in society, which deserves enhanced attention within the humanities.
