Research group MaRCU: Mathematical Reasoning and Conceptual Understanding

The research group MaRCU focuses primarily on mathematical content, exploring a range of mathematical concepts in areas such as statistics, analysis, algebra, and geometry. Our research encompasses both students and teachers, from preschool to university level, as well as various educational materials, including textbooks.
MaRCU adopts a pluralistic approach, meaning we are not bound by a specific theoretical framework or perspective. We employ both quantitative and qualitative methods, which allows us to remain a flexible research group open to various approaches and viewpoints.
In our research, we collaborate with scholars from different institutions, both nationally and internationally, and actively participate in networks and conferences. The goal of our research is to contribute to the development of mathematics education and teacher training, with a particular focus on professional development in these areas.
In addition to the group’s work in research projects, we regularly organize seminars where we discuss and analyze ongoing work, share research findings, and explore new ideas in mathematics education. These seminars are open to all interested parties, and invitations are published in the Department of Teaching and Learning's calendar.
