Since the beginning of the 1970s, our research has explored the structure of signed languages and various aspects of sign language grammar, the language acquisition of deaf children, and the secondlanguage learning of written and spoken language. In addition to studies of Swedish Sign Language (STS), our researchers have produced dissertations on British Sign Language, Greek Sign Language, signed minority languages in Latin America, and tactile sign language.
The Sign Language Section also provides several language resources with open access to researchers, teachers, and the interested public:
- "Svenskt teckenspråkslexikon" – a data base for a digital dictionary of Swedish Sign Language
- Sign Language Corpora – a collection of sign languages texts.
