Linguistic, literary and didactic studies are conducted at the Department of German.
Within the field of linguistics, research is primarily conducted in discourse analysis, media linguistics, political linguistics, sociolinguistics and older text research. The researchers in literary studies have a particular focus on exile literature, early modern literature, literary and cultural theory and contemporary literature. The language didactic research is focused on cultural learning, language learning in multilingual environments and on learning in digital spaces. The research environment in German is characterized by an interdisciplinary character and high social relevance.
