Next semester (fall 2024), I will give a course on Norms and Nature in Ancient Moral Philosophy in Gothenburg. For those who may be interested in taking the course, I would just like to tell you that it will be given in November. More specifically, it will be given during weeks 47-48, with 2 hour meetings on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (in total 8 meetings). (Depending a bit on how many participants there will be in the course, some meetings might last for 3 hours.)

The course will be announced nationally in August. Then there will also be available a general course description. Details about times, venues, course readings, presentations, and so forth, will be announced at least one month before the course starts (hopefully much earlier than that!). (Should anyone like to prepare ahead of that, I would recommend reading Julia Annas, The Morality of Happiness (OUP, 1993), chapters 1-2; and T.H. Irwin, The Development of Ethics. Vol. I: From Socrates to the Reformation (OUP, 2007), chapters 2, 5, 8-9, and 13.)

Should one or more of you know now already that you are likely to participate, please let me know! (For those who are still thinking about it, it will of course be possible to decide to participate closer to the course as well.)
