After a few days in Longyearbyen, Oden lifted anchor today 1 August
around 3pm and headed for the Arctic Ocean where we will stay for almost
two months, doing all sorts of observations, including atmospheric and
oceanic. Next stop will be in the Marginal Ice Zone (MIZ) where we will
spend a day before heading into the ice, hunting for a good ice floe to
drift with for five weeks or so.
