About me
My research interests include impacts of land-use change and climate change on hydrological processes and water resources. I have led research projects on environmental changes in drainage basins across Africa, Europe, and Central Asia. A recent research project investigates legacies of agricultural and industrial pollutants, and their impact on water quality. Studies of on-going changes in the groundwater system are an important part of the work. Other projects focus on relations between hydrological characteristics (water levels, water residence times, and discharges) and ecosystem services of wetland systems (buffering capacity, retention of nutrients / pollutants and biodiversity support).
