The centre for the studies of children’s culture was established in 1980 and is a part of The Department of Child and Youth Studies.

The purpose of the Centre is to work for knowledge development within the field of children's culture. The Centre conducts education, symposiums, conferences and is a part of various collaboration projects.

New book about Swedish Children´s Cinema

Swedish children's cinema has so far been a largely unexplored area, but now contributions from various children's culture researchers relating to the history, ideology and aesthetics of Swedish children's films have been collected in the book Swedish Children's Cinema - History, Ideology and Aesthetics.
