How do we make healthcare more sustainable?

Professor Jason Snape will draw on his experience as the former Global Head of Environmental Protection and Senior Leader in AstraZeneca, to explore some of the sustainability challenges faced by the pharmaceutical industry and wider healthcare sector. This will include the challenges of delivering net zero in a major global company, the hazards and risks posed by pharmaceuticals in the environment, the environmental dimension of antimicrobial resistance, and the need for greater environmental scrutiny of human medicinal products at the point of authorisation and procurement. Jason will also highlight where his research has helped improve environmental policy and regulation.
