The Nordic Pioneer Prize 2024: Eleonora Svanberg is one of four winners
The prize was established in 2021 by Nordic Safe Cities, which works to strengthen democracy and counter extremism in the Nordic region. Eleonora Svanberg, alumna of Fysikum, is one of the four prize winners. ‘I am incredibly honoured by the prize, which shows how important it is to work for gender equality in STEM,’ says Eleonora, who founded Girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). The award ceremony will take place on 19 September in Denmark.

The Nordic Pioneer Prize is a tribute to Nordic young people who dare to make a difference.
"I am incredibly honoured and proud to win this prize. It shows how important it is to work for gender equality in STEM and I am grateful that this work is being recognised in the Nordic region. Gender equality in science is important both on an individual and societal level to ensure that girls can see themselves in that world," says Eleonora Svanberg in a press release from Nordic Pioneers.
The award ceremony will take place on 19 September in Fredriksberg, Denmark. Since 2021, the Nordic embassies have taken turns hosting the awards.
In August 2024, Eleonora published the book ‘Study with me’ with portraits of female role models in STEM.
Eleonora Svanberg studied on the Bachelor programme in Physics at Fysikum. She then took her Master's degree at Cambridge and she plans to do a PhD at the University of Oxford.
