Anthropologist admitted to the Pro Futura programme
Chakad Ojani has been admitted to the Pro Futura Sciencia programme for promising early-career scholars. In the coming five years he will be working on the project ‘Oceans in the sky’ that deals with fog capture in coastal Peru.
The researchers admitted to the Pro Futura programme are funded for a five-year period in order to develop their cutting-edge research and competencies, after which they are offered tenure-track positions at the nominating university. One out of the five years must be spent at the SCAS institute in Uppsala.
Nominees from Swedish universities go through a rigorous selection procedure led by an international committee of senior researcher in the humanities and social sciences.
Between the years 1999 and 2023, 76 researchers have been admitted to the Pro Futura programme. Chakad Ojani is the 16th researcher nominated by Stockholm University to be admitted.
Chakad Ojani’s work on fog capture is a continuation of earlier research on water, infrastructure and water capture in Peru.
