Peer learning for student engagement and assessment
Based on extensive research within education, feedback is considered a powerful tool in students' learning. However, in everyday life, teachers may not always have the necessary resources or time to provide personalised feedback to each of their students. Could peer review be a solution to this challenge?

This workshop is aimed at Stockholm University staff involved in teaching, including teachers and course leaders.
About the workshop
Although there are other ways of providing feedback to students, such as self-assessment tests and quizzes, peer feedback offers certain advantages for students' learning. This applies to both the students who give feedback and the ones who receive it. During the workshop, we will discuss ways to incorporate peer feedback into your course from pedagogical and practical perspectives.
In this workshop, we will consider peer review as a tool for providing students with more and better feedback, as well as a potential assessment tool. Specifically, the workshop will cover the following themes and topics:
- Consider the advantages and disadvantages of peer review in general.
- Reflect on the differences between giving and receiving feedback from peers.
- Discuss your experiences of completing a peer review task (a short peer review assignment will be made available before the workshop; see below under preparations).
- Identify potential ways to implement peer review in your courses. Consider the tools available for peer review, specifically in Canvas.
Workshop leader is Christine Storr, Lecturer at the Department of Law. The workshop is held in English.
