Canvas replaces Athena as the new learning platform from Autumn Term 2026
From the Autumn term 2026, Stockholm University will use Canvas as its new learning platform for all education and course administration.
For you as a student, this means that you will use Canvas from Autumn term 2026.
If you are taking a course that started earlier, you will continue using Athena for that course.
Once you are registered for your courses, you will automatically gain access to the course site in Canvas.
Frequently asked questions about Canvas
Canvas is designed to be easy for students to use – course materials, timetables and submissions are brought together in one place. You log in with your university account and will find your courses in the new environment when the term begins.
