Applying AI-tools in language learning - Latvian

If you have been accepted to the course, then you will receive more information concerning registration in August. The course starts week 36.

The course deals with the use of AI tools in language learning of Latvian as a foreign language and provides a general introduction to current AI tools.

Based on current research, the opportunities but also risks of using AI tools in language learning are discussed.

In the practical part, the use of AI tools for learning Latvian as a foreign language is practiced in a critical, reflective and transparent manner.

The course is useful for all professions and jobs where knowledge of and about Latvian as a foreign language and the use of AI tools in language learning are required or are a competitive advantage.

Teaching Format

The teaching consists of lectures, seminars and (group) exercises.

The languages of instruction are in English and Latvian.

Assessment

The course is examined through a written assignment and an oral presentation. The principles for weighing the individual examination assignments are stated in the grading criteria.

The examination is in English and Latvian.

Examiner

The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.
