The course also deals with the most important evolutionary processes that underlie the organisms' diversity and phylogeny and how our understanding of these processes has changed over time. Most groups of organisms are treated in the course, but the modules are called "botany" and "zoology" for practical reasons, even though not all organisms are plants or animals.

This course is given in Swedish.
