Macroeconomics
The course aims at giving you a thorough understanding of key macroeconomic concepts, theories, analytical tools, and empirical regularities. The course is mandatory in the Master’s programme in Economics.
The focus is on monetary and fiscal policy, business cycles, and consumption and investment theory. If time allows, the course also covers exchange rate determination and international capital flows. The theories will be applied to current macroeconomic issues.
This is a 7.5 credit course.
Course material will be available on the learning platform Athena.
Teaching Format
Instruction will be in the form of lectures and group exercises. The language of instruction is English.
Assessment
The course is examined through a written exam at the end of the course and through hand-in assignments during the course. Assignments are voluntary but give credit toward the final grade. The credit from assignments is only valid for the term it was gained.
