Econometrics 3: Data science for economic analysis

This is a hands-on course on practical data management for empirical economic analysis. The course is part of the Master’s programme in Economics.

The course follows the main workflow from research idea to analysis-ready dataset: formulating a question, finding and collecting data, importing and cleaning, transforming and documenting, visualizing and exploring, and iterating when new insights require further data work.

This is a 7.5 credit course. Course material will be available on the learning platform.

Teaching Format

Instruction will be conducted in the form of lectures. The course is taught in English.

Assessment

The examination consists of two parts:

  • required hand-in assignments,
  • written exam.

Examiner

The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.
