Geography IIL with Educational Perspectives

In the course Geography IIL, you will have the opportunity to develop and deepen your geographical knowledge by using various geographical methods and sources to analyse current societal issues.

The focus is on application — for example, how geographical theory and methodology can be used for geographical analysis related to planning, development, and conflicts on local, regional, and global scales. This includes, for instance, transboundary environmental problems, resource utilization and resource conflicts, as well as the impact of globalization on the physical environment and human living conditions. Excursions and fieldwork are part of the instruction and aim to concretize and apply the theoretical components. The course also covers subject didatics, i.e. techniques and approaches in teaching geography in schools.

The course is part of the Teacher Education Programme and is offered by the Department of Physical Geography in collaboration with the Department of Human Geography and the Department of Teaching and Learning.

This course is given in Swedish only. More information about this course can be found on the Swedish course page.
