Geological Sciences, Degree Project
The independent work aims at giving insight into and experience of scientific work within geological sciences.
Planning, analyses and interpretations of the scientific task form a central part. Literature search, scientific report writing and oral presentations of the research results in seminars will be trained. The course provides knowledge and experience both for further academic studies and for employment in industry and the public sector.
The course is given each term and can be started and ended any time during the term.
Together with the supervisor/s, the student establishes a project description which needs to be approved by the responsible professor.
The course literature will be based on scientific articles and reports and will be provided by the supervisor/s and searched for by the student.
As you prepare for your dissertation, it may be helpful to look at previous student work. These examples are available for those seeking inspiration or a better understanding of how such projects can be structured and presented.
