Human Geography I – course package
Are you interested in maps? Do you want to work with issues related to societal development, the environment, and how global processes affect everyday life and the landscapes we live in? If so, human geography might be something for you.
Human geography is about the relationships between people and places. One starting point is that all human activities occur somewhere, and this is crucial for understanding and analyzing both local phenomena and global processes.
Human Geography I – course package, 30 credits, provides foundational knowledge and skills in human geography. The course package includes first-term courses for a Bachelor's degree in human geography and can also be a good complement to other studies. The courses also constitute the first term of the Bachelor's Programme in Human Geography – Society, Environment and Global Processes, 180 credits.
Modules
The course package consists of four modules:
Introduction to Human Geography, 7.5 credits
Population, Environment, and Landscape in Change, 7.5 credits
Cities and Urban Society – Local and Global Challenges, 7.5 credits
GIS and Spatial Analysis I, 7.5 credits
It is not possible to apply for the individual courses separately, except for GIS and Spatial Analysis I, 7.5 credits.
These four courses are mandatory in the first term of the Bachelor's Programme in Human Geography – Society, Environment, and Global Processes, 180 credits.
