Project on Assignment in Urban and Regional Planning

The course consists of an independent applied project. In collaboration with an external organization outside the Department of Human Geography, you will collect, process, and analyze data based on relevant research questions.

Project on Assignment in Human Geography, 15 credits, is offered as a standalone course during the first or second half of both the autumn and spring semesters. It requires 150 credits including a degree project, 15 credits, in Urban and Regional Planning or within the Urban and Regional Planning Program, or 15 credits from a Master’s program in urban and regional planning.

In cooperation with the industry the student will collect, process and analyse data based on relevant issues and report his/her findings in writing and orally.

The overarching learning objective is that after completing the course, you will be able to, in collaboration with an external organization, apply your methodological and theoretical knowledge and reflect on the usefulness of the results. The aim is also to enhance your employability.

You will present your results both in writing and orally to the external organization, the course teachers, and, if possible, to other course participants.

You are responsible for arranging the project assignment placement. Before the project begins, the client and the project must be approved by the course responsible teacher.
