Modelling Tools for Environmental Scientific Studies

During the course, you will learn the basics of modeling. The course consists of data visualization, concepts and basic theory as well as simple numerical models that can be applied to different types of environmental problems in different fields, such as climate change, environmental chemistry or ecotoxicology.

The theory is combined with practical examples in the form of three different case studies.

The course is divided into three blocks:

Block 1 - Exploratory data analysis (EDA) and statistical modeling
Block 2 - Introduction to dynamic systems and process modeling
Block 3 - Introduction to climate models


Teaching Format

The course consists of lectures, computer exercises and assignments. The course is offered in English.


Assessment

The course is examined through home assignments and a written final exam.
