Are environmental issues important to you? Do you want to contribute to a better society? We offer a one-year postgraduate program in environment and health with a strong focus on case studies as well as theory and practice that help you understand and manage current issues and challenges in environment and health.
Since the program can be integrated with part-time work, you have the opportunity to work up to 15 hours per week in parallel with your studies and directly apply what you learn in practice in a workplace. This way you get valuable work experience that further qualifies you for the job market, while building a professional network within the industry.
Great need for competence in the industry
Our education in environment and health gives you very good opportunities to get a qualified job in environment and health or in sustainability. There is a great need for competence in business, municipalities, county administrative boards and other authorities around the country. Environmental consultant, environmental strategist, environmental and health protection inspector and sustainability manager are examples of jobs that the education can lead to.
An education that gives you concrete tools for the sustainable transition
During the program, you will gain skills and practical experience in data evaluation, communication, decision-making and prioritizing among complex and difficult issues. You will learn about how we create and maintain a sustainable society, where both people and the environment can be well.
The education gives you basic knowledge in, among other things:
- Environmental pollution - sources, such as how substances spread, are transformed and affect ecosystems and human health.
- Environmental technology - the use of technical solutions to reduce environmental impact, manage waste, purify water and air and develop sustainable energy sources and processes.
- Environmental legislation - the laws and regulations that govern the protection of the environment, the management of natural resources and the prevention of environmental pollution to promote sustainable development and public health.
- Health protection - prevent and reduce risks to human health through interventions that regulate environmental factors, such as air quality, noise and water supply, as well as the management of infectious diseases and hazardous substances.
- Environmental communication - disseminate information, create dialogue and engage various actors in issues related to environment, sustainability and climate.
