Further Information | BSc in Earth Science, by distance

The programme begins with a broad introduction to Earth Science, and fundamental themes in Geology and Physical Geography.

The first year ends with two intensive field/campus courses that cover practical aspects of Earth Science that cannot be taught remotely.

In Years 2 & 3, you may choose from a range of courses offered by the Department of Geological Sciences and the Department of Physical Geography, on topics such as mineralogy, structural geology, climatology, biogeography, or marine geophysics.

In your final year, you will learn more about scientific principles and methods and you will conduct an independent research study.

Most of our courses are given entirely by distance; some courses may have special admission requirements. Click on the images for more detailed information about every year.
