Introduction to Islamic Mysticism
The course provides an overview of the emergence of Islamic Mysticism in the early Islamic era and the development and spread of Sufi orders.

The course also covers basic Islamic and Sufi concepts, rituals, and institutions. Furthermore, the development of Sufi theologies and practices are briefly presented, including contemporary examples.
The course consists of one module, Introduction to Islamic Mysticism, 4 credits.
Teaching Format
Teaching is provided in the form of lectures in English. All lectures are distance-based.
Assessment
The course is examined through written examinations in the form of a take-home exam.
