I teach Italian at all levels. At beginner levels I mostly teach grammar, but also written production. At higher levels I teach linguistic theory and methodology, and courses related to second language acquisition. I also supervise student theses.

My research is in the field of Italian linguistics and Italian second language acquisition, with a focus on oral production, morphology, vocabulary and corpus linguistics. My current research concerns multilingual language acquisition, processing and cross-linguistic interaction from a psycholinguistic perspective. The aim is to shed light on how multiple languages are stored and processed, and questions related to language selection and control are investigated. I have previously worked on lexical complexity with a focus on the lexical sophistication and variation in very advanced or near native learners of French and Italian, and on the acquisition of grammatical gender and number by Swedish adult learners of Italian.

(2006-2012) High-level Proficiency in Second Language Use

The project was carried out at Stockholm University with the purpose to develop our understanding of highly advanced L2 learners. In total 25 researchers and research assistant took part in the program. I worked within the sub project Aspects of the advanced L2 learner’s lexicon.
