About me
After my dissertation in 2022 I am currently working as a lecturer at the Department of Teaching and Learning within a variety of language teacher courses. My interests are focused around assessment, specifically assessment identity, and English as a foreign language.
Assessment is a major area of interest for me as my own experience of having an assessor profile that has changed over time with increased experience raises many interesting questions. My dissertation work on these issues was completed in the fall of 2022 and was titled Fairest of them all? Assessment identity development among Swedish students and novice teachers of English as a foreign language.
As assessment is a highly topical subject, more and more tests are used both nationally and internationally, and we know that assessment is subject to validity problems, it is important to shed light on the subject from a teacher's perspective. A deeper understanding of the development of assessment identity could inform teacher education with the purpose of ensuring higher comparability and reliability in assessments and grading, benefitting all students.
