About me

I began my PhD in Archaeological Science at SU in 2018. My current research focus is on contaminated materials, particularly bones. These artefacts have been contaminated from ions in the burial environment and/or post-excavation practices, including conservation techniques. I use these materials to analyze for stronium isotopes and concentration, which can indicate the origin of an individual and also shed light on their dietary life-history.

Current projects are determining non-locals from the Varnhem site dated from the Iron Age to the late Middle Ages. In addition, I am working to determine the ability of decontaminating contaminated bones for strontium.
